Drama in Action

Poetry and prose are explored through drama activities to encourage students to use their
imagination, develop their thinking skills and enjoy using language creatively and expressively.
This culminates in a performance at the end of the course.

Broadcast Journalism

This programme allows students to learn and apply skills related to broadcast journalism and
compering. They learn interviewing skills and the correct etiquette involved in different public speaking
situations. Techniques, skills and confidence are built through practical work.

Dramatic Dance

Drama in Action

  • To build confidence and self-esteem.

  • To promote an enjoyment of language in all its forms.

  • To help each student’s personal development and ability to communicate with sensitivity.

  • To build command of Standard English and the language needed to support it.

  • To encourage creativity, imagination and thinking skills through drama and role-play situations.

  • To foster collaboration and teamwork amongst peers.

Broadcast Journalism

  • Learn skills related to journalism – reporting and interviewing.

  • Prepare to interview people (participants or spectators).

  • Show an awareness of the etiquette involved in speaking in different public situations.

  • Cope with impromptu speech situations.

  • Practice and improve skills in articulation, speech rhythm and vocal projection.
